I can't play that kind of game on a console. Anything where I have to sit in one place for like four hours, I'd rather be at my PC. Besides, I don't know about Bioware games, but Bethesda games have an occasional glitch that you can sometimes work around or fix from the command line (PC only). There was a Fallout 3 quest where I hit the objectives out of order, and some character never appeared. I had to use a command to spawn the character in the right place.
The interface really would be better on the PC, I think. I'm most comfortable at a console, but there are definite strengths to having a full keyboard + mouse at your disposal.
I am totally obsessed with Dragon Age. And I have a tremendous crush on Alistair, which is probably even more unhealthy and weird now that I'm married, but I don't care. I DON'T CARE. TOTALLY NOT WRITING ALISTAIR FANFICS RIGHT NOW.
I liked Mass Effect, but DA seems much more immersive. I think part of it is having so many PC characterization options (both graphically and background story) but I think the lack of a "morality" meter helps. The game doesn't judge you, but the characters do. And all the characters are fun to have in your party. Square Enix could learn a thing or two from BioWare, IMO, because it seems like every FF game I want to leave half of my people on the side of the road (or in the case of FFVIII, ALL of them).
It still has a lot of stupid quests, though. "The Circle of Magi needs 10 mushrooms!" Really, asshole? You need a freaking Grey Warden to do that for you?
