What are your creative outlets?
Am I the only one here that still maintains a daily word count? It doesn't have to be writing. If you make birdhouses or something I won't knock it.
Or are you consuming but not producing? Are you okay with that or do you have a drive to create that you haven't channeled?
Music is my main creative outlet. I started playing in a local junior college band again. It's actually a pretty good group all things considered. I really enjoy it, and I especially enjoy not feeling like I have to shoot for the top spots in the ensemble. Playing second flute is just fine by me. I've also been slowly learning to play guitar. I can make it through a fair number of songs at this point. One of my roommates really wants to practice together, but his method of practice is so unstructured compared to mine that it just doesn't work out well for me. Plus he wants to do like one five hour practice session a week, and fuck that.
I'm going to get back into writing too though. I decided that one main thing I want to try doing is writing kid's philosophy books. They'll be little fables almost with some basic philosophic concept as the core. So things I write will be lighthearted, fluffy, and meant for kids.

The kids' philosophy books sound cool. Holla if you need a reader.
I decided to "get serious" about writing, which means actually finishing things, then submitting them so they can be rejected. I got my first form rejection in 8ish years this weekend. Aaaaah, rejection. It gave me heart burn, just a little.

No time. I am officially old.

Instead, I'm going to list elements of the death of my youth and creativity.
Gave away my Rock Band gear to make room for the GF's stuff
Used my Intuos tablet, which I've wanted since college, maybe twice since getting it
Growing list of games I own that I've never touched (lots from Steam, but also retail games I got for my birthday or Christmas)
Stopped planning out that sci-fi thriller book I wanted to e-publish on Kindle or Nook because I don't have time to devote to solitary tasks
Really, I think all of my waking hours go to either work or my girlfriend. Not that I'm complaining about those two, but I'd like to be able to stop time like that girl on Out of This World and do all my solitary activities then. Of course, then I guess I'd age faster than everyone else...
